Review | Avon Aero Volume Mascara

I have been looking for a mascara that has a lightweight feel and that creates voluminous lashes. I found this mascara and it's description met my requirements. I have had a few mascaras like this one, however, they have either been too heavy when it was suppose to be 'light' and created thin lashes when they were suppose to be 'voluminous'.

The product met my lightweight effect but not the voluminous effect.

This mascara is good for a everyday natural make up look, as the colour is a black brown which creates that natural look. I love the way it feels on my lashes - I like to use it on a day when I don't wear much make up because it's so soft and light and it feels like I've got no mascara on. I have a lot of normal mascaras but they have always felt heavy and the Aero Volume mascara is the opposite - it is more for that heavy smoky eye. This mascara is genuinely waterproof. Although it does cause clumps, once it's dried and been put on carefully, it will not smudge.

I like the packaging of this mascara, how it's rectangular, mascara packaging usually is circular - so it's nice to have something different. I also like how it clicks when you screw the applicator back on.

However, this mascara has its faults. It does not seem to make my lashes look voluminous, thick or long - it's just like a normal mascara. There hasn't been any dramatic / special effect! I bought this mascara because Avon described it 'volume without bulk', so I was interested to see if a mascara could do this. I read a lot of reviews about this product and a lot of people said that it was good for volume (& lightweight feel), however, my opinion is opposite. Such a shame! In my opinion, I think it is hard for a mascara to be voluminous and light combined. I think when a mascara is suppose to be voluminous - it should be more heavy and not lightweight because it creates more definition and dramatic effect. I like to use different types of mascaras for different events.

The other downside was the mascara brush - it seems to cause clumps and then the mascara would smudge. It would be perfect if the brush was thinner (not too thin though). I tried this with a thinner brush and it looks GORGEOUS.

I'd also recommend to applying quite a few coats to see any effect / difference.

This mascara varies in price it's normally £8.50 but it's usually on offer around £5 (not too sure) - so it's a real bargain. Although this mascara has it's faults, I think it would be a good back up mascara in your make up collection.

Love always,
Paige x
