Beauty Review | Benefit High Beam Highlighter (Sample)

I bought this gift package box at Christmas with all different Benefit products I got they're real! Mascara, Hello Flawless foundation, Hoola bronzer and mini samples Porefessional primer, high beam, it's potent! eye cream and many other sampled products that I've used up. I absolutely love Benefit cosmetics, it’s probably my favourite high end make up counter. Their face products are the best foundations, highlighters and blushers are gorgeous.

I have never used this highlighter before, but when I got a sample of the High Beam it was the perfect opportunity to try it.

Love this packaging!
Benefit claims that:
High Beam is a satiny pink liquid highlighter that creates a healthy, radiant, dewy complexion. It’s long lasting and apparently is a ‘supermodel in a bottle’.

This is the cutest sample bottle I've ever seen
Yes, firstly I love the colour of course it’s satiny and shimmery pink and it has a thick consistency.

I love that this highlighter is a liquid; it helps hydrate the skin and does not dry it out. With the highlighter being a pink, it warms up your face, which makes me look like a doll haha. Now, the purpose of the highlighter is that it does create a healthy dewy glow, my skin looks so much more radiant using this highlighter. The highlighter is long lasting and does not wear off even if it’s sunny and the sun is direct onto your face.

It’s so easy to apply – the applicator reminds me of a paint brush (I’m no good at comparing things haha) so use the mini paint brush onto your cheeks and brow bones or anywhere you want that glow. I use it over my make up and sometimes under my make up on the areas I want highlighted.

When I use this highlighter, I am quite picky with the choice of foundation. In my opinion, this highlighter looks a lot prettier when wearing a BB cream, when I wear a full coverage foundation, the highlighter doesn’t look as nice but that’s probably just me. My personal advice is that I would invest in Benefit’s Hoola bronzer, so then you have that extra radiant glow.

How to apply

Example on how to apply the highlighter
I blend a bit all over my complexion, I like to use make up products that serve more than one purpose sometimes I buy a brown / bronzer eye shadow palette and use some of the eyshadows on my eyebrows (obviously browns haha). I use the highlighter on my nose and around my eyes (top of my eyelids). I think blending this highlighter is can be quite difficult because it dries fairly quickly that’s the only downfall about this highlighter.

I cannot believe how natural High Beam is, I have applied some of it on my hand here and you can hardly tell your wearing it.

I applied some on my hand under the watermark and side of the packaging. Poor example :(
I don’t apply a lot of the highlighter otherwise it will look like I’ve been rolling in glitter.

High Beam looks lovely on your cheeks in winter, but it gives you that extra glow but in the summer. It looks gorgeous when the sun is direct onto your face!

That’s my review on this beauty; I will definitely invest in the ordinary size bottle. I’m glad I had a sample bottle because I would have been disappointed if I bought the normal sized bottle and wasn’t keen on it. The normal sized bottle is £19.50, but if you don't want to spend this much money without trying it, I recommend getting a Benefit make up box (I'm not sure what they are called) in mine (mentioned at the top) some of the main products and then I got a few sampled size products. I always do that, I like to get my hands on sample products because if I've spent a lot of money on a product and is no good for me (which I've done a lot) it's a waste!

Overall, Benefit never disappoints me!
