Is AVON Better than MAC? | Matte Lipstick Review

Successfully, Avon have increased their quality of their lipsticks and interestingly they seem to be better than Mac's. What I love about Avon's lipsticks is that they are affordable and top quality whereas Mac lipsticks are expensive and not everybody can afford to buy Mac lipsticks constantly. If you are a lipstick lover like me, I like to buy affordable lipsticks that are satisfying and aesthetic. Matte lipsticks are all the fashion // trend now and typically every girl loves to wear a matte lipstick. They just have that perfect finish and do not wear off so easily compared to shimmery lipsticks.

So for all you lipstick lovers out there, you may be a fan of The Matte lipstick collection from Mac, however you may not be a fan or like the price of their lipsticks £15+. I can see why every girl likes the expensive brands that have been promoted by famous YouTubers and other celebrities but I feel Avon should have a glare of publicity for once.

I love the lipstick packaging itself but the sample lipsticks are more suitable because they are perfect for a night out or a day when you are carrying a smaller bag and do not have much room for a big tubed lipstick.

I decided to incorporate this taken photograph of the brochure for you to see how pigmented and perfect these new lipsticks are. Some of them do look sparkly in the brochure and some of them to have a hint of glitter but they are still matte. Unlike most matte lipsticks, the Avon matte lipsticks do not dry out your lips instead they make them feel more moisturised and soft. You cannot tell you are wearing lipsticks when you are wearing these matte lipsticks, they are lightweight and comfortable. When you are applying the lipstick, it feels like soft velvet is going across your lips. Sometimes I have purchased lipsticks from different brands and some have always been difficult to apply and haven't gone on the way I wanted it to. With these lipsticks, you do not have to worry if it's going to mess up your make up look and if it goes all over your lower face area because they are easy enough to blend and go in the difficult corners of your lips.

As you can see, the Avon matte lipstick collection has a range of shades from simple nudes to bold pink and berry tones. The only sample lipsticks I have not managed to have found for this post are Ravishing Rose and Peach Flatters... they are quite similar to the other shades and are just as pigmented.

1) Top to bottom we have the shades:
Hot Plum
Mauve Matters
Marvellous Mocha
Absolute Coral
Ideal Lilac

These lipstick shades are new to the matte collection and probably these are my favourites. My favourite two though have to be 'Mauve Matters' and 'Marvellous Mocha', I'm just loving the nude and pinky shades recently. These shades are perfect for a natural look but also for that glamour and sexy look. However, 'Hot Plum', 'Absolute Coral' and 'Ideal Lilac' are lovely for those nights out where you wanting your lipstick to stand out and bring your whole look together.

2) Top to bottom we have the shades:
Perfectly Nude
Au Naturale
Posh Petal
Vibrant Melon
Coral Fever
Ruby Kiss

Again we have those natural nude shades and the vibrant pink shade lipsticks. A lot from the collection may be similar but they have a different effect and you can distinguish these similar colours as they compliment different make up looks. From testing these lipsticks, I rather like the 'Au Naturale', 'Coral Fever' and 'Ruby Kiss' because they seem to be more pigmented and dark shaded compared to the others.

3) Top to bottom we have the shades:
Red Supreme
Wild Cherry
Superb Wine
 Splendidly Fuchsia
Electric Pink
Adoring Love
Pure Pink

I do have to admit all these shades from this testing are my favourite and it's hard for me to pick my favourites from these. You may notice that 'Wild Cherry' and 'Superb Wine' look similar, however I feel they are not the 'Wild Cherry' is just a dark red shade whereas the 'Superb Wine' is more on the black side with a hint of red. If I had to pick my favourites for a day or night out, I'd chose 'Red Supreme', 'Superb Wine', 'Splendidly Fuchsia' and 'Pure Pink'.

The lipsticks are usually £8, however in campaign 10 (so you can back order because it is campaign 11 this time) they are priced £5.50, so order a few whilst the price is reduced.

Overall, these lipsticks have been a saviour to the beauty world as they are inexpensive (so they are not a danger to your bank account haha) and the quality is amazing.

I hope you enjoyed this post and will consider investing in some Avon lipsticks :)
