NARS | Duo Eyeshadow Silk Road

When I first purchased this product, I thought the shades were pale and would have not much impact on my eye look. However, I was wrong these shades are classy and flawless... they are shades that can be used for a night out or can be used for a simple look.

You can buy these from House of Fraser
The product claims:
- Effortless blending
- Long wearing crease resistant formula
- All duo eyeshadows can be applied sheer or built up for dramatic effect

From my perspective, the packaging seems simple and low quality for the price. However, it is small and thin therefore it does not take up much room in your make up bag or drawer.

Silk Road shades
In light of the Nars description, I do agree with their description of the product because it does achieve it's purpose. I think duo eyeshadow palettes are a great idea because if you are wanting to blend two similar colours together will work because these colours do blend together. The eyeshadows are also highly pigmented and are full of shimmer/glitter. Some people might not like glitter in their eyeshadows because it is hard to blend and can spread all over your face, however like the Avon Dimensions palette (reviewed in June) these sparkly eyeshadows do blend nicely and the glitter does not spread all over your face.

As you can see on the left is a skin, pale, glittery colour which is good for the base and then on the right is more of a pink slightly salmon shade which has a hint of glitter in too. These colours do really compliment each other but the eyeshadows can be used separately too. I use these colours together because they complete my eye look with some eyeliner on my eyelid.

The left colour seems to be more invisible but it is a lighter colour and I do not tend to use this colour on it's own, however sometimes I use the right colour individually. Sometimes I have used this left colour as a highlighter for my cheeks and has give my face a radiant glow.

Overall, the Silk Road eyeshadow duo palette is a successful product that leaves your eyes or cheeks looking flawless and I recommend you buying it. However, the product is quite expensive as they are £25 each... if you are looking for a similar product and is cheaper, there are some eyeshadow duos that are similar to Nars in Avon.
