Yves Saint Laurent | Top Secrets BB Cream Skin Perfector
YSL's Top Secrets BB Cream Skin Perfector seems to be popular within the beauty world at the moment. I have noticed that it has good reviews on blogs and YouTube videos - I thought it was time to get this product. I like to look what make up products are in trend at the moment and see if they are worth having. Over the years, I have just bought products that I haven't really used or needed. Now, I look and read reviews of products to see if I really want it and will use it.
The BB cream tube is elegant and classy - I love the black and gold theme. YSL claim that this products aim is to conceal imperfections on your skin and make you feel more confident. It also says that it gives 24 hour hydration and helps with oily skin. I have the 'Light' shade of the Skin Perfector as it suits my skin tone more than the 'Medium' shade. The 'Light' shade makes my face look brighter as opposed to a sun kiss tanned glow. I squeeze a little bit out of the bottle about 4 times - a bit of the cream on each cheek and some on my forehead, nose and chin. Then I blend it in with my foundation brush or sometimes just my hands. You have to blend it quite a bit to get that natural make up look but then it looks lovely.
In my opinion, Avon's BB cream has much more coverage and lightweight feel compared to YSL's. Unlike Avon's, the YSL BB Cream is more runny and liquidly and does not blend easily. Other than that, it is good to use and blend with other foundations or just wear on its own. A great advantage about this BB cream is that it is perfect for summer as it has Sun Protection Factor 25+. I have used this product a lot over the summer and is a good substitute for face sun cream. Although the BB Cream is quite runny, it has BB cream and SPF in one. YSL are rather promising with the description they gave - it does conceal blemishes and marks on your face that make you feel insecure. It has a thick but thin coverage - this sounds very contradictory but it has a balance. Because the BB cream is more watery, it is very hydrating and is great for combination skin. It does not dry my skin and does not make my T Zone look more oily.
The BB cream by YSL is on more of the expensive side. I think some places you can get cheaper but on the YSL webpage it is £39.50. I do recommend this product if you are looking for more of a higher quality BB cream.
Love always,
Paige x
